Monthly Meditation |
|
Next Session: 21 June
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society
Our monthly meditation invites you to pause, sit, and return to the simplicity of the present moment.
There is no goal to achieve. No struggle to resolve. Only the gentle act of sitting with yourself—breathing, noticing, allowing. When the mind quiets, the world becomes clearer.
This session welcomes both newcomers and seasoned practitioners. Come as you are, and rest in the stillness that is already within you.

Summer Gardening Program——Sowing Seeds in Your Mind 2025 |
|
In our Sowing Seeds in Your Mind gardening series, participants are guided by agricultural professionals to engage with nature through sustainable and mindful cultivation. The program also integrates ecological awareness with Buddhist precepts, nurturing a sense of care, interconnection, and gratitude.
Through hands-on learning and observation of the natural cycles, we uncover the teachings of interdependence and impermanence — not only in the garden, but in life. |

Ching Ming Dharma Assembly Yogācāra Offering Dharma Talk by Abbot Venerable Tsang Chit |
|
During the Ching Ming Dharma Assembly, we hold the Yogācāra Offering (Yankou) to make offerings to beings in the three lower realms—hell, hungry ghost, and animal—so they may receive the light of the Dharma and be free from suffering. This ritual is also a way to dedicate merits to our ancestors and loved ones, helping them transform their karmic path toward the three higher realms, especially the human realm where the Dharma is most accessible. Through this act of giving, we cultivate compassion, joy, and equality—the foundation of the Bodhisattva path. Practicing generosity brings not only blessings to others, but also harmony and happiness to our own lives. May we unite our hearts in this ceremony, dedicate the merits to all beings, and together move closer to the path of enlightenment. |

Recent Event Highlights – April Monthly Meditation |
|
On April 19, Venerable Wai Leung led a meditation session based on the Dependent Origination, guiding participants to observe impermanence and the nature of non-self through the lens of conditioned arising. Through sitting and walking meditation, participants were invited to return to the present moment, become aware of the changing nature of body and mind, let go of attachments, and reconnect with their original inner clarity.

LCSG 24/25 – Leadership Series Class 3: Indra's Net |
|
The third session of the LCSG featured a talk by Christian Mayhofer on the theme "Indra's Net." Through this powerful metaphor, Christian guided participants to reflect on the deep interconnectedness between self and others, and how personal emotions influence group dynamics. He emphasized that in a multicultural context, empathy and self-awareness are essential qualities for global leadership. Many participants found the metaphor of Indra’s Net deeply impactful, inspiring them to reflect on their roles within a group and to approach communication and leadership with greater openness, mindfulness, and wisdom. |

The Inheritance and Preservation of Buddhism — A Century of Buddhist Bonds in Hong Kong Vol.2 "Exploration Rural Monasteries – Lantau Island's Culture of Practice" |
|
Far from the city’s hustle, Lantau Island—Hong Kong’s largest—harbors a rich and tranquil monastic tradition. This episode presented by Tung Lin Kok Yuen x Buddhistdoor takes us from urban Tung Lin Kok Yuen to the quiet landscapes of Luk Wu and Ngong Ping, where Buddhism has quietly taken root for over a century. From the transformation of Luk Wu Hermitage, to Po Lin Monastery’s rise as a major Buddhist landmark with the Tian Tan Buddha, and the lives of devoted practitioners like Venerable Wai Wing and Zen Master Dae Kwan, each story reflects the enduring spirit of practice. Today, with young people joining through events like lantern ceremonies and winter camps, Lantau’s temples continue to carry the Dharma forward into the modern world.

The Process of Establishing Full Faith in Amitabha Buddha |
|
On hearing the Pure Land teaching, people generally react in one of three different ways: firstly, they might not believe it. Secondly, they believe it, but they have doubts. Third, they deeply believe it. The Pure Land teaching is probably the easiest to practice among all of the meditative and non-meditative practices that Shakyamuni Buddha gave, especially for ordinary beings like us. However, it is also difficult to believe. |
