Monthly Meditation |
|
Next Session: 21 June
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society
Our monthly meditation invites you to pause, sit, and return to the simplicity of the present moment.
There is no goal to achieve. No struggle to resolve. Only the gentle act of sitting with yourself—breathing, noticing, allowing. When the mind quiets, the world becomes clearer.
This session welcomes both newcomers and seasoned practitioners. Come as you are, and rest in the stillness that is already within you.

Dharma Talk by Abbot Venerable Tsang Chit |

Venerable Tsang Chit, Abbot of Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society shared during the 11th World Buddhist Sangha Council recently held in Hong Kong: “This conference, held under the theme ‘Sustaining Wholesome Thoughts,’ brought together Dharma masters and volunteers from around the world, creating a joyful and harmonious atmosphere. From preparation to completion, every participant embodied and learned the spirit of wholesome thoughts, supporting one another with a heart full of Dharma joy. This Dharma assembly not only showcased the unity and compassion of Buddhism, but also reminded us to continuously give rise to wholesome intentions, allowing them to carry forward into the present and future. May we all share the vow for world peace and the happiness of all beings.” |

LCSG 24/25 – Leadership Series Class 4: Interconnectedness, The Importance and Implications of Dependent Connection |
|
In the fourth session of the Leadership and Communication Skills for Global (LCSG) course, we were honored to have Venerable Hin Hung share on the topic of “Interconnectedness: The Importance and Implications of Dependent Connection.” Guided by the wisdom of the scriptures, we came to understand that all phenomena in life arise and cease due to causes and conditions. We also deeply reflected on the verse:
“The mind is like a skilled painter, capable of creating all worlds;
The five aggregates arise from it—there is nothing it does not shape.” |

Work, Life, and Burnout: Why Hustle Culture is Making You Miserable |
|
“Hustle culture” refers to a mindset or lifestyle that prioritizes hard work, constant productivity, and the relentless pursuit of success. This lifestyle is marked by dedication to one’s career, which, according to conventional wisdom, will lead to professional achievements and personal development. Influencers, entrepreneurs, and businesses often promote “hustling” as a virtue, suggesting that the more you work, the more successful you’ll become. “No days off” is a common mantra among those who promote this lifestyle.
