Buddhistdoor 30th Anniversary Symposium |
|
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Buddhistdoor, a special symposium will be held on September 3 at Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada. The theme of the event is: “Nourished and Steered by Dharma into the Future: Buddhistdoor as a Disseminator and a Catalyst in the Contemporary World.”

To promote professional training in spiritual care and psychospiritual therapy, the Society establishes a scholarship for Buddhist clergies currently enrolled in accredited courses by Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS) or other courses approved by TLKYCS.

Summer Gardening Program——Sowing Seeds in Your Mind 2025 |
|
In our Sowing Seeds in Your Mind gardening series, participants are guided by agricultural professionals to engage with nature through sustainable and mindful cultivation. The program also integrates ecological awareness with Buddhist precepts, nurturing a sense of care, interconnection, and gratitude.
Through hands-on learning and observation of the natural cycles, we uncover the teachings of interdependence and impermanence—not only in the garden, but in life. |

Leadership and Communication Skills Global (LCSG) Semester 2 |
|
The Society and Fa Yue Buddhist Monastery continue Leadership and Communication Skills Global (LCSG) program, inviting speakers from diverse backgrounds to share their insights, promoting youth self-development, leadership, and communication skills.
Semester 2 will starts from July.
Course schedule: Every first Saturday of the month 9:15 to 11:15 a.m.*

Our annual Dharma calendar is available for reference. Please check individual event listings for specific times and details.
Starting January 1, 2025, the temple will be closed on Mondays, New Year’s Day (Jan 1), and Christmas Day (Dec 25), except on the 1st and 15th of each lunar month and during Dharma events.
We warmly welcome your presence and participation throughout the year.

Dharma Talk |
|
On July 15, the Society invited Venerable Hin Yim to give a Dharma talk. With compassion, the Venerable shared Buddhist wisdom and personal practice experiences, communicating clearly and accessibly with the audience to foster meaningful Dharma connections. The Venerable guided attendees to follow the teachings, integrate Buddhism into daily life, and diligently cultivate their practice. The Society hopes that through this talk, participants will strengthen their resolve on the path, enhance mindfulness and understanding, and be filled with the joy of Dharma. |

Tea Ceremony Volunteer Training |
|
The Society held a Tea Ceremony Volunteer Training on July 12 & 19, guiding volunteers to experience the spirit of tea and C’han, while learning the mindset and skills of offering tea—from brewing to serving, and cultivating inner mindfulness through everyday practice. |
|

Chinese Ink Painting Beginner Workshop |
|
The Society intro class began with lychee painting, teaching basic brushwork and composition in a fun, engaging way. Recent lessons explored themes like winter plum blossoms and orchids in a quiet valley, helping students build skills while finding calm through art. |

June Monthly Meditation |
|
On July 19, TLKYCS held the Monthly Meditation Practice, led by Venerable Hui Tong. The activities included paying respect to the Buddha, the Dharma talk, walking meditation, and seated meditation. Under the Venerable’s guidance, participants cultivated mindfulness and inner stability, experiencing a peaceful and reflective atmosphere.

LCSG 24/25 – Leadership Series Class 6: Integration |
|
In the six session of the Leadership and Communication Skills for Global (LCSG) course, we were honored to have renowned Hong Kong visual creator anothermountainman spoke on the theme of "Integration", sharing his creative journey and how art connects with culture, and personal experience. He engaged with both in-person and online students, encouraging mindful observation and diverse perspectives.

Sowing Seeds in Your Mind |
|
Since April, Tung Lin Kok Yuen has been offering the 2025 Sowing Seeds in Your Mind course. Combining hands-on practice with theoretical learning, the instructor guides participants in developing organic farming techniques while reflecting on the relationship between natural ecosystems and sustainable development. |
