Buddha's Birthday Celebration Assembly & Open Days 2026 |
To celebrate the Buddha's birthday this year, Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society is organizing a cerebration assembly and open days in May.
Through the celebration, we pay respect to the Buddha by "bathing" the Buddha while purifying our mind, with an aspiration to follow the teachings of the Buddha, so that his light of compassion will shine through the world. In addition, the Society will also organize open days with guided tours, booth activities, and experiential practice. We hope to celebrate this Buddha's birthday with the public with these religious and cultural activities. Free public even, no registration required.

Interest Courses |
Cultivating the Mind Through the Arts, Contemplating Life in Stillness Upholding its mission to promote culture and Buddhist education, the Society offers a series of arts and mind–body wellness courses. Through diverse forms such as calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, floral arrangement, handicrafts, and Tai Chi, participants are guided—within the serene setting of the Society—to calm body and mind, refine characters, and embody a Ch'an-inspired living.

Monthly Meditation Practice |
|
The Society hosts a Monthly Meditation Practice, inviting a Dharma master to guide meditation and share essential Buddhist teachings in a clear and accessible way. In a calm and harmonious setting, participants cultivate mindfulness and concentration, experience the joy of meditation, and integrate the practice into daily life.

Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society and Fa Yue Buddhist Monastery continue Leadership and Communication Skills Global (LCSG) program in North America and Europe 2025-2026, inviting speakers from diverse backgrounds to share their insights, promoting youth self-development, leadership, and communication skills.
This academic year, our theme is “Shifting Perspective”, inspiring Buddhist youth to transform how they see themselves, others, and the world.

The Transmission and Continuation of Buddhism Series |
|
Tung Lin Kok Yuen and Buddhistdoor present a documentary marking ninety years of contributions to Buddhism, education, and culture. This episode features Professor Lee and his work with Professor Jao Tsung-I on Dunhuang studies, conservation, and the transmission of Buddhist art. |

New Year Blessing Offering Ceremony |
|
The Abbot explained that the Deva Offering ritual, based on the *Golden Light Sutra*, cultivates joy and inner stability through offerings and recitation. By practicing generosity, participants plant wholesome causes and receive the Dharma’s “nectar.” While chanting, they aspire to world peace and to uphold the Dharma, walk the Bodhisattva path, and continue this spirit with sincere vows. |

Buddhist Chanting and Instrument Course |
|
Under the Dharma teacher’s guidance, participants learn to use ritual instruments, chant the Great Praise, and recite Buddha and Bodhisattva names. Practicing Five-Session Nianfo, they unify the mind, enter contemplation, and deepen collective cultivation. |

Rebirth in the Pure Land |
|
The society recently hosted a Treatise on Rebirth course with Venerable Wai Leung. Centered on aspiring for Pure Land rebirth, the course covers Bodhisattvas’ unregressed practice, Amitabha’s vows, rebirth causes, and Pure Land principles, offering deep insights into the scriptures. |

In the LCSG first session, Dr. Ernest Ng shared on “Shifting Thoughts,” using Buddhist wisdom to help participants observe and adjust their mind, ease, and cultivate daily peace and joy. |
