The Three Pure Land Sutras |
📖 The Three Pure Land Sutras
Author:Hongxue (Commentary)
Language: Chinese
📍 Available at the Society Library
🪷 Volunteer’s Recommendation
The Buddha usually delivered his teachings in response to questions from his disciples. The Three Pure Land Sutras, however, are unique in that they were taught without being requested.
The Three Pure Land Sutras include:
-The Sutra of Infinite Life
-The Contemplation Sutra
-The Amitabha Sutra
These three sutras describe the splendour of Amitabha Buddha’s Pure Land and explain how practitioners can aspire to and attain rebirth there. Among them, *The Amitabha Sutra* is the most concise, making it an ideal introduction for beginners to understand the magnificence of the Pure Land. With sincere aspiration to be reborn in the Pure Land, everyone has the opportunity to attain Buddhahood.
📌 We warmly invite you to visit the Society Library and explore this title.

Ten Talks on the Contemplation Sutra |
The past four sessions on the *Contemplation Sutra* focused on Pure Land practice, including nianfo, the principle of “two-power correspondence,” and related practices of meditation and virtue. It highlighted the Buddha’s skillful guidance leading all beings to nianfo, and reflected on whether Buddhist practice is for self-liberation or liberating others.
This session continues Pure Land study. We rejoice in everyone’s ongoing participation and look forward to the August classes for further cultivation.
