Buddha's Birthday Assembly & Open Days 2024 |
To celebrate the Buddha's birthday in May, the Society is organizing a pre-cerebration assembly and open days on 11-12 May. Through the celebration, we pay respect to the Buddha by "bathing" the Buddha while purifying our mind, with an aspiration to follow the teachings of the Buddha and may his compassion shine through the world. In addition, the Society will also organize open days with guided tours, booth activities, and experiential practice. We hope to celebrate this Buddha's birthday with the public with these religious and cultural activities. |

Ching Ming Dharma Assembly |
The Abbot Venerable Tsang Chit compassionately expounds: Every year, we hold the Ching Ming Dharma Assembly to cultivate the spirit of "filial piety". In Buddhist scriptures, "filial piety" is also upheld as a precept. Practitioners must maintain purity of mind, and Buddhist compassion resonates with traditional Chinese culture. The assembly involves scripture reading, repentance rituals, and sutra chanting to foster the spirit of "fulfilling the deceased's wishes and remembering distant ancestors", closely linked with the Buddhist principles of "transmission" and "upholding". |
