LCSG Public Workshop by anothermountainman |
|
TLKYCS will hold a workshop titled "Painting by God" on 14 September, inviting the renowned Hong Kong designer and contemporary artist Stanley Wong (anothermountainman) to lead the participants to experience from photography our integration of daily living.

|
TLKYCS will hold a public lecture on 14 September, inviting the renowned Hong Kong designer and contemporary artist Stanley Wong (anothermountainman) as the speaker. The public lecture is titled "Building a Liveable City." The lecture will explore how a creative person integrate with society.

Buddhist Spiritual Care Volunteer |
|
Buddhist Spiritual Care is an emerging field of practice and study. Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society is dedicated to introduce Buddhist spiritual care in healthcare institutions, long-term care facilities, and universities. By integrating Buddhist teachings and practices with professional techniques, we aim to support careseekers when they are going through difficult moments, connecting them with the compassion and wisdom of Buddhism in the community. |

Ullambana Assembly |
|
From 4 to 10 August, TLKYCS conducted the Ullambana Assembly for the liberation of the deceased. On 18 August, we hosted the "Triple Gem Ullambana Offering Assembly" in celebration of the "Buddha's Joyful Day." We extended our heartfelt gratitude to the venerable monks and devoted participants for their virtuous contributions that made this grand ceremony possible. |

Buddhist Resource Box |
|
Recently, we developed a Buddhist Resource Box and donated them to hospitals and care facilities in the Greater Vancouver areas. The Resource Box contains select English and Chinese Buddhist books and reference materials of different sects. Patients and their families can access them during their stay in the hospitals or care facilities. If your institution is interested in receiving one, please feel free to contact us. |

LCSG23 Session |
|
In the 10th session of the LCSG course, we had the honor of inviting Venerable Hin Yan to share on the topic "Contemplating on the Emptiness of the Five Aggregates." Venerable delved deeply into the nature of the Five Aggregates, explaining how understanding their emptiness can help us overcome attachment, leading to inner peace and wisdom. |

Sowing Seeds in Your Mind |
|
On 17 and 31 August, TLKYCS held the "Sowing seeds in your mind" planting course. The instructor guided the participants in planting or crop rotation based on the "transformation and succession of soil, plants, and organisms." Through observing the planting process and results, participants gained better wisdom of dependent origination. |

Ch'an & Chat: Monthly Meet-ups @ UBC & SFU |
|
On 8, 17 and 29 August, we held the monthly online meet-ups respectively for the UBC and SFU participants from the university community.
