Children’s Buddhist Story & Performance Class |
Nurturing young hearts with the Buddha’s teachings and inspiring life through compassion. Through learning about the Three Jewels, storytelling, singing Buddhist nursery rhymes, meditation practice, and creative crafts, children are guided to cultivate mindfulness and wholesome actions, allowing wisdom and merit to take deep root as they grow.

2026 Introduction to Spiritual Care Course |
|
2026 Introduction to Spiritual Care Course is designed for adults Interested in spiritual care services. The program emphasizes both theory and practical application.
Target Participants: Adults Interested in spiritual care services Theory Classes: July 18, 25; August 1, 8 (Saturdays), 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (12 hours total) Topics: Self-awareness, assessment skills, elder care, hospice and palliative care, caregiver support, loss and grief, and related subjects Practice classes: Participants with full attendance in the theory classes may be invited to join the practicum component, which includes 12 hours of supervised volunteer spiritual care visits under the guidance of the instructor. Capacity: 15 participants Language: Cantonese Registration Fee: CAD $100
Participants who complete the theory classes with full attendance will receive a Certificate of Completion and a reference book on Buddhist Spiritual Care. Course Fee: Free* *Course fees are sponsored by Tung Lin Kok Yuen Canada.

Tung Lin Kok Yuen, Canada Society and Fa Yue Buddhist Monastery continue Leadership and Communication Skills Global (LCSG) program in North America and Europe 2025-2026, inviting speakers from diverse backgrounds to share their insights, promoting youth self-development, leadership, and communication skills.
This academic year, our theme is “Shifting Perspective”, inspiring Buddhist youth to transform how they see themselves, others, and the world.

Our annual Dharma calendar is available for reference. Please check individual event listings for specific times and details.
Starting January 1, 2025, the temple will be closed on Mondays, New Year’s Day (Jan 1), and Christmas Day (Dec 25), except on the 1st and 15th of each lunar month and during Dharma events.

Buddha's Birthday Celebration Assembly & Open Days 2026 |
|
The Buddha’s Birthday Open Day booth activities were successfully completed, welcoming nearly 400 participants in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
The program combined art and Buddhist elements through mindfulness painting, calligraphy, sutra copying, Zen-inspired creativity, Dharma bookmark drawing, board games, and interactive activities, offering an accessible introduction to Buddhist teachings.
Quiet crafts such as paper lotus making and weaving also provided space for reflection and inner calm. Overall, the event presented Buddhism in a lively and engaging way, inspiring mindfulness and appreciation among participants.

Buddha's Birthday Celebration Assembly |
|
The Buddha’s Birthday Bathing Ceremony was successfully held in a solemn and joyful atmosphere, with many participants offering flowers and bathing the Buddha in reverence. Through this auspicious practice, participants reflected on the teachings, purified the mind, and cultivated merit and wholesome intentions.
We rejoice in the participation of all, and wish that Dharma joy and blessings continue to grow.

Monthly Meditation Practice |
|
On May 16, the Society held its “Monthly Meditation,” with Venerable Wai Leung leading a two-hour meditation session. Participants were guided to turn inward, cultivate mindfulness and focus, and bring calm awareness into daily life, fostering a sense of inner stability and harmony.

In the LCSG, Session 4 was led by Christian Mayhofer on “About the Ongoing Becoming,” exploring the difference between “What happened to you?” and “What happened for you?” as a pathway to personal growth and transformation.

SOWING SEEDS IN YOUR MIND 2026 |
|
The “Cultivating the Mind” program has reached its fourth session. Under the instructor’s guidance, participants are beginning to enjoy good harvest of their hard work, filled with joy and appreciation.
The course highlights the harmony of natural conditions such as sunlight, water, soil, microorganisms, and insects, reflecting the Buddhist teaching of dependent origination. Through caring for plants with mindfulness and compassion, participants cultivate both the garden and their inner growth. |

Interest Courses |
|
The Society offers a variety of interest classes that integrate traditional culture with mind–body practice, including calligraphy, floral art, handicrafts, and Tai Chi. Through focused practice and breath coordination, participants are guided to slow down their pace of life, allowing the mind to settle and the body and emotions to gently relax in a calm and comfortable atmosphere.
