Introducing Mindfulness (English Session)

Through three online sessions, we will explore some key themes with lectures, mindfulness practice, and group discussions. To explore the relationship between mindfulness and our body and mind, this course aims to create time and space for mindfulness and strengthen our ability to develop resources to cope with difficulties. With a clear and compassionate heart, we can genuinely care for important people and matters in daily life.

Sowing Seeds in Your Mind-Session 2

From 22 July to 14 October
Session 2 of the gardening course will commence in July. With an experienced farmer as instructor, students are guided to immerse their body and mind into the nature. Students can also extend the Buddhist five mindfulness training to our moral relationship with ecology, nurture a sense of gratitude, and understand the wisdom of dependent arising.

Tree & Serpent: Early Buddhist Art in India EXHIBITION

The "Tree & Serpent: Early Buddhist Art in India, 200 BCE–400 CE" exhibition, sponsored by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Global, will display 140+ objects, such as stone reliefs, reliquaries, and jewelry, narrating the origins of Buddhist art in India and delving into important themes of this transformative era in Indian art.

Buddha's Birthday Assembly & Open Days

To celebrate the birth of Shakyamuni Buddha, TLKYCS hosted the "Buddha's Birthday Assembly & Open Days" on 21 and 26 May. Through the Bathing the Buddha ceremony, participants pay respects to the Buddha, and carry on the wisdom of the Dharma, praying for the illumination of compassion in the world. In addition to the traditional ceremony, the event also featured "clam, relax and compassion" experiential practice, guided tours, various booth activities, and snacks.

Guided Study of Pure Land Sutras

On 7 May, Venerable Chi Ng gave a teaching on the The "Lotus Sutra - Universal Gateway Chapter". The Sutra guides people to cultivate compassion and benevolence, transcending self-interest and seeking enlightenment to alleviate suffering. Chanting the sacred mantra of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva brings worldly benefits and the opportunity for rebirth in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

In the "Sowing Seeds in Your Mind" classes held on May 13th and 27th, the instructor explained the agricultural system of "Twenty-Four Solar Terms" and acquainted participants with the energy cycle among plants, soil, and living organisms. They also learnt about sustainability and ecology.
