Every 2nd Thursday of the month during the winter session at 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
For every monthly session, we will start gathering 30 mins before and stay 30 mins after for tea / coffee!

Sowing Seeds in Your Mind—Winter Extension Program |
The Society continues the "Sowing seeds in your mind" winter extension program, offers a variety of activities. During the six classes we will focused on agricultural themes, share knowledge about farming, food, tea, and mindfulness, deepening our understanding of the connection between people, the mind, and the natural world.
Next session on "Tea and the Soil – Tea Meditation Event" will be held on Jan 13, 2024, 2-4 PM. |

Ch'an & Chat @ UBC |
On 9 November, we organized the monthly Ch'an & Chat meet-ups at the UBC Life Building. Together with the university community, we met for a mindfulness practice, tea & coffee meditation, sharing and exploring the theme "Taking a Break!", and listening to harp music together. |

UBC Multifaith Event |
On 24 November, TLKYCS attended a multi-faith event organized by the Multifaith Chaplains Association at UBC. We explore with students and other religious communities on the topic of Spirituality and Mental Health, strengthening understanding and exchange in the diverse community. |

UBC Meditation Community |
On 4 December, Dr. Ernest Ng facilitated a tea meditation for a student club, UBC Meditation Community. Participants shared tea and practiced together. |

LCSG 2023-2024 Began |
The first sharing of the International Leadership and Communication Skills Course (LCSG) was offered by Dr. Ernest Ng with the topic "Seeing the Mountain and the Abyss". Participants explored a journey to integrate everyday challenges with Buddhist teachings and practices. |

"Sowing Seeds in your Mind" X Tea Meditation |
As part of the winter extension activities for "Sowing Seeds in Your Mind," a tea meditation event was held to explore the relationship between tea culture and planting. Participants learned about tea, the influence of land on tea plantation, and practicing meditation through tea. |

"Sowing Seeds in your Mind" X Pickling |
At the winter extension events: "Sowing Seeds in your Mind" x Pickling, instructors highlighted the application of enzymes and microorganisms in the pickling process, preserving food naturally. In line with Buddhist teachings about the interconnectedness of humans and nature, fermentation serves to minimize food waste, enhance flavors, and reveal the wondrous potential of the microscopic world. |
