During the Ching Ming Festival, we gather to express filial piety and gratitude to our ancestors. The Society holds the "Ching Ming Emperor Liang Treasure of Repentance Assembly". We dedicated all merits and offerings to our family for their well-being in this life and next.

Guided Study of Pure Land Sutras |
April 16, 23 & 30, May 7
A guided study of the Pure Land Sutras is instructed by Venerable Chi Ng. Based on three Pure Land Sutras - the Amitabha Sutra, the Universal Gate Chapter of the Avalokitesvara Sutra, and the Contemplation Sutra of the Buddha of Immeasurable Life. With deep learning of the wisdom and compassion of Buddhism in their daily life, participants can dissolve afflictions and purify the minds.

Photo Contest |
Guided Tour and Photo Taking: April 22 & 29
Theme: Compassion
The Society will organize a photo contest in April. Participants can learn more about the religious significance, cultural and architectural features of the Society by joining a guided tour and taking great photos on the spot. To share our values and connect with the communities, entries will also be exhibited to the public. |

Sowing Seeds in Your Mind |
From April 22 to October 14
A gardening course will be organized by the Society. With an experienced farmer as instructor, students are invited to immerse their body and mind into nature. Students can also extend the five mindfulness training of Buddhism to our moral relationship with ecology, nurture a sense of gratitude, and understand the wisdom of dependent arising. |

Introducing Mindfulness (English Session) |
Briefing Session: 13 May 2023
Zoom online course: 10, 17 & 24 June (SAT) 9:30-10:30 PST
Through three online sessions, we will explore some key themes with lectures, mindfulness practice, and group discussions. To explore the relationship between mindfulness and our body and mind, this course aims to create time and space for mindfulness and strengthen our ability to develop resources to cope with difficulties. With a clear and compassionate heart, we can genuinely care for important people and matters in daily life. |

Introducing to Mindfulness (Cantonese) |
The three-week online course "Introduction to Mindfulness" came to a successful conclusion on March 25. Dr. Ernest C.H. Ng, the instructor, introduced three main themes of mindfulness with practices in class and at home. Students reported that they learned how to develop focus and awareness, and create a "breathing space" in daily life. |

Group Practice |
Graduates of the "Vimalakirti and Srimala Course" gathered regularly to practice the "Five Assembles Reciting the Buddha's Name" and "Calm, Relax, Compassion" practices. By reciting the Buddha's name, we are drawn closer to the Buddha's compassion and wisdom. |

Guided Study of Pure Land Sutras |
On March 19 and 26, the Society held a Guided Study Course on Pure Land Sutras taught by Venerable Chi Ng. The Buddha's teachings on the Amitabha Sutra aim at supporting sentient beings to liberate from suffering and attain the wisdom of the Buddha. The Pure Land practice of chanting the Buddha's name, is indeed a skillful means originated from the Buddha's great compassion. |
