Ancestral Hall

Traditionally, Chinese people revere filial piety. They continue to pay their respects to their deceased relatives through ancestral tablets in their homes. To place a tablet in a temple’s ancestral hall is even more meaningful. In Tung Lin Kok Yuen, the sounds of sutra chanting in the Main Buddha Hall are transmitted to the Ancestral Hall to convey the true meaning of the Buddhist sutras to the hearts of the deceased named on the tablets.
