We are saddened to share that our Founder, Mr. Robert Hung Ngai Ho, C.M., O.B.C., philanthropist, patron of contemporary Buddhism, newspaper journalist and editor, passed away peacefully in Vancouver, Canada on November 30, 2025, at the age of 93.
Our Founder and Honorary Chairman, Mr. Robert Hung Ngai Ho, was born in Hong Kong. He established Tung Lin Kok Yuen Canada, the Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation, and the online journal Buddhistdoor Global, and he served as Chairman of Tung Lin Kok Yuen in Hong Kong and Canada. By supporting Buddhist studies at various universities in Hong Kong and North America, he makes relevant Buddhist wisdom and practice to contemporary society and life. In Vancouver, where he resided for more than 30 years, Mr. Ho gave generously to the communities and he was deeply respected by his fellow citizens

Assembly duration may adjust as needed, visitors are advised to arrive at least 15 -30mins before and participate according to your capacity at ease.
Visitors will be guided by the monastics and volunteers to experience the solemn assembly. Please feel free to be seated or peacefully retreat from the back for a break. If you need any assistance or feel uncomfortable, please raise your hand to seek support. Please refrain from eating inside the Grand Buddha Hall.
