Guided Tour 18

As you step out of the Grand Buddha Hall and descend the step-by-step, a stone-carved plaque above the Mountain Gate comes into view: “Universal Happiness” . Drawn from the concluding words of many Buddhist sutras, this phrase signifies the heartfelt delight listening and living the teachings of the Buddha..

These four words are both a blessing and a reminder. Happiness arises from a clear mind and steadfast vows; from hearing the Dharma to igniting aspiration, and from aspiration to daily practice, all begin with a spark of gladness. Practice need not flee the world for solitude—it thrives in the mindful turning of the heart amid life’s flow.

Within this urban sanctuary, the architecture weaves faith and culture together. Built with reinforced concrete, the temple blends Chinese elements—images of double eaves, soaring ridges, golden tiles, and ornate grey moldings—with intricate symbolic details like moon gates, bracket sets, and corridor flourishes. Its solemnity harmonizes with the city’s pulse.

Every brick and tile here is more than structure; it is a sacred realm born of vows. The Dharma extends beyond these halls, flowing into communities, touching lives, a compassionate connection and steadfast refuge.

As we exit the Mountain Gate, this tour may end, but the journey of faith begins anew. May this happiness accompany you in daily practice, your vows unwavering, all in universal harmony.
